SNE Security Score / In development

A clearer measure of how security performs.

We’re developing a structured way to assess physical and electronic security using evidence from the real environment. The aim is a proposed 0–100 score, supported by findings and a practical improvement plan.

The question behind the score

You know what’s installed.
How well does it work?

A count of cameras or card readers tells only part of the story. Security also depends on coverage, recording, resilience, operator response and continued maintenance.

The SNE Security Score aims to bring these factors into a consistent assessment. The evidence, limitations and priority actions remain essential to understanding any future headline score.

Proposed assessment model

Five connected areas.
One evidence trail.

These areas form the working model. Weighting, thresholds and repeatability need to be tested before meaningful benchmarking is possible.

01

Protection & coverage

How the environment deters, detects and manages the security risks that matter.

02

Systems & integration

How well electronic security systems perform their intended functions and work together.

03

Resilience & cyber hygiene

How power, networks, storage, access management, backups and recovery support continuity.

04

Operations & response

How people receive information, make decisions and respond to security events.

05

Governance & maintenance

How ownership, records, maintenance, testing and change control sustain performance.

Help test the approach

Built from evidence.
Refined through use.

We welcome interest from integrators and asset owners who would like to discuss a pilot assessment. Suitable pilots will help test the method against real security environments.

Pilot scope, timing, fees and information use are agreed before participation. Any use of project information to develop the methodology requires a separate agreement.

A useful pilot starts with

  • A defined site or security environment
  • Access to relevant records and site evidence
  • A real improvement question
  • Willingness to give practical feedback
